Courtney’s love for horses began early and her Morgan mare, Missy, taught her responsibility, patience, and determination. They grew together, competing in hunter/jumper and dressage around New England. At 27, and retired, Missy enjoys life on Courtney and her husband’s farm in Tolland, CT.

Courtney's passion for learning and equine wellness led her to specialize in Equine Massage Therapy where she's dedicated herself to helping horses perform and feel their best. In 2014, she completed a comprehensive certification program in Equine Massage Therapy through Bancroft's University's School of Animal Massage. Following graduation, she gained extensive hands-on experience and refined techniques through years of clinical practice and collaborative mentorship with her friend, Kim Friedgen @ Partners In Performance.

Kim Friedgen, a lifelong horsewoman and highly regarded professional in the industry, generously shared her extensive knowledge and passion for equine wellness. Under her mentorship, Courtney had the opportunity to refine technical skills and gain invaluable experience in the field of equine bodywork. This collaborative experience enhanced Courtney’s professional development and strengthened her commitment to delivering high-quality care. Their work together is rooted in mutual respect, trust, and a shared dedication to supporting the health and performance of every horse.

 

Courtney continues to expand her professional development in equine wellness through advanced coursework and clinical study. She completed Equine Myofascial Release I with Tamara Thomas, where she developed advanced skills in fascial assessment and release techniques to improve mobility, reduce restrictions, and support functional whole-body movement. This training strengthened her hands-on evaluation skills and ability to identify patterns of compensation that can affect comfort and performance.

She also participated in a biomechanics clinic with Gerd Heuschmann at Maverick Hill Dressage, focusing on correct equine biomechanics, posture, and balance under saddle. The clinic enhanced her understanding of movement efficiency, rider influence, and how training practices impact long-term soundness and structural alignment.

 

​​Courtney’s commitment to learning and growth is reflected in both her education and career. While earning her B.S. in Education from Central Connecticut State University, she competed on the IHSA team and built lasting relationships within the equestrian community. She later earned master’s degrees in Educational Technology and Curriculum & Instruction, strengthening her ability to assess, communicate, and apply evidence-based practices. By combining her educational background with her passion for horses, Courtney helps support equine mobility and performance through therapeutic bodywork and preventative care.
